Stop Motion / Animation on PD170 Can't Post

Is there a way to do stop motion / animation style frame recording on a PD170. Is it merely just a frame shot or is there something particularly different that I have to do to get produce an animation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

frame shot. Make sure you lock your settings in so that the iris and so forth is consistent. If you are in camera mode it records stills to the tape. In photo mode it records them to the memory chip (I think...trying to remember....trying....ack!!!)

Sandy,

The best way is to use stop motion software to capture a still from the camera.

Are you on a PC or a Mac?

PC - Stop Motion Pro is good... Monkey Jam is free but all you don't get a full res file.

MAC - iMotion or something like that. Is suppose to be very good but I don't have a Mac.

These software packages allow you to see your animation in progress, layer views to see what you should do next, line up your animation to your audio, and more. Plus it will keep you from putting wear and tear on your camera heads.

Shooting to memory stick is another option but you don't get the benefits of seeing your animation progress.
