TRV950- Will XLR Block Assembly from PDX10 fit the TRV950? Can't Post

I have a Sony DCR-TRV950 and I would like to add some pro sound to the camcorder. There is a similar model (DVCam) which is the DSR-PDX10. The PDX10 comes supplied with a XLR Block assembly (Part # A7013029A) and a shotgun directional microphone (ECM-NV1). I would like to know if you can at all find out for me if the XLR Block Asembly is compatible and to what extent. I have read some vague info here and there but have no concrete info or evidence on the subject. I have also contacted Sony directly, but seems they are useless at answering my question, as I have not received any form of reply from them.

I will really apreciate any info on this subject or even just a pointer to someone that might be able to help.

Kind regards

GEORGE

It won't physically attach, as the PDX10 has a cold shoe to mount the adapter, AND a hot shoe to plug in the short adapter cable. Also, there would be some obvious firmware differences. The audio controls in the menu, as well as much of the rest of the options in the menu, are very different between the two.

I had both cameras, but never got so brave as to try and plug the adapter into the TRV950. In fact, I didn't use the XLR adapter at all, most of the time.

Will be interesting to see what Sony says! Good luck!
