: I just got a VX-2000 Friday. Bought the only Mini DV tape I could find, Fuji, at Wal-Mart.
: Took it to the ice rink today (Sunday) and I let it sit there in standbay until it shut off. Turned it back on, hit record, and there was something like a red X in the middle of the LCD, then it said "Cleaning Cassette". It refused to go into record. Turned it off and back on and it started working normally again.
: Anyone seen anything similar? Did the tape freeze?

I have had simular thing happen on my trv 900 in hot weather.
These cameras seem to be sensitave to temp changes. I carry a head cleaner cassette with me all the time just in case.
