VX2100 fourth failure on same issue, repair or replacement? Can't Post

I buyed a VX2100 and send to warranty at Bristol, PA because all of a sudden the dialer button (SEL/PUSH EXEC) only lets you select two options from any on-screen menu (white balance, audio levels, menu, custom presets, etc)

the camera came back repaired...

after two months ... the same problem with the dialer

sent to warranty to SONY at Bristol.. camera repaired again

after two months ... SAME PROBLEM!

sent to warranty again .. camera repaired for the third time

less than a month from being repaired from the third time.. SAME PROBLEM AGAIN...

Im sending the camera again but I dont know what to do, if it happens AGAIN.

is it fair to have it repair for the same problem four times?? wouldnt be less expensive for Sony to replace my camera instead of repairing/replacing parts and the shipment costs 4 times? (from 2nd repair sony payed fedex)

Is there a law for consumers to refer to ask for a replacement?

help!

Not sure what type of warrantly you have on your camera, but in general, and this will vary on the warranty provider, if the product fails three times for what can be diagnosed for the same problem, a replacement of equal or greater value will be given, at the discretion of the warranty provider. I'd stand firm with this, but check your document specifics ahead of time. If it's within the year of Sony's warranty, that's surprising...I've sent some cameras in and they're very good at response, corrections, fixes, etc.
