Hello Dietmar. I have experienced this with my VX1000, after having the head drum replaced several times, and using it heavily for 7 years. Took it to an authorized Sony repair shop, they said they fixed it, charged me $250, and now it doesn't even turn on! I'm afraid this means it's dead, after hundreds or thousands of hours of faithful service! I guess I can't complain. Maybe someone else has a different experience. I think I just used it to death. Can't say what the problem is, so I am not of much help. Nevertheless, it did occur to me that I have from time to time worked very hard to get exactly that look in post. Nice artistic feel.
