VX 1000 standby shuts camera off if not recording SOLUTION? Can't Post

Is there any way to keep the camera on without recording on a tape?
I am using it as a studio camera and recording on a VTR.
ANY help greatly appreciated.

Is there a tape in the camera?

You can take the tape out or at least open the tape compartment. The 3rd way is to switch the cam to the Photo mode. All will solve the shutdown problem.
