VX 2100 Ejecting tape problem Can't Post

I was going to get ready to transfer some footage to my pc and decided to run the head cleaner through it and had trouble ejecting. As of writing this post I tried it one more time with some luck but the tape was stuck in the camera. I was able to pull the ribbon(I guess thats what it called) out with no problem. Has anyone every had the same problem? I'm afraid to put another tape in that has important footage but I need to get going on this prject. Let me know if you've had the same problem and what you did to rectify it.

I had a tape with important footage on it get tangled up in my tape deck. I took the cover off to get at it and carefully remove it. Is your camera your only way to play the tape? Constant tape threading is hard on a camera.

I generally use my panasonic consumer cam but had problems with it pixilating the video so I used my vx2100. Is there another method of transfering other than using a camcorder?

I used to use a comsumer cam as a tape deck, but was limited by it. I picked up a good, used JVC SR-VS20 tape deck on eBay. It enables me to dub between miniDV and other tape formats. I feed my Mac thru it to a video monitor. A deck is made for frequent tape threading, rewinding, fast forwarding, etc.
