VX 2100 quality on 32" LCD Can't Post

Having upgraded to dual layer and burning a half hour at 6000 kbs in Ulead Workshop 2, I am still wondering why the native quality of the 16:9 clips appears so grainy.

I read somewhere that reducing the resolution by about 25% to film the VX in 16:9 mode is bound to reduce the dvd quality of widescreen, but this is not apparent on a crt and it only seems to show up on w/s LCDs.

Anyone have the same issue and produced a good quality dvd image on an LCD of about 32"?

I have heard that LCDs do the poorest at upsampling images to a larger screen. It may just be because you are watching it on an LCD screen.

Are you using component connections RGB or Y Pb Pr / Y Cb Cr? If you are using standard def connections (RYG RCA) then I've found that it won't look very good on an LCD.

The problem isn't the authoring program or NLE, but what was said earlier, that LCD screens do a very poor job of upsampling the picture. Plasma and CRT's do a much better job of this.
This is why I have never been a big fan of LCD screen technolgy, as the image always looks soft to me (even in on HD LCD's) even at proper recolution, when compared to CRT, Plasma, ECDTV etc.

I assume your referring to a wide screen LCD HDTV?
