Vx-1000 fisheye - Sony or Century? Can't Post

Hello
I am interstedin purchasing a fisheye lens for my vx-1000. I am not sure if I should get the sony lens or the century lens. The sony web page said the lens was $300 and the century's was $895......?? That seems a bit expensive for one lens...
Anyways century makes a lens that will fit right on to my vx-1000, but for sony's I would have to get a 52->58 step in ring. Is there a disadvantage of using the ring?
Thanks
Ben

this all depends on the quality you want if you want superior quality, go with the century, no question about it. You can get them from www.tristatecamera.com and they are $675.

Make sure you get the Bayonet mount designed specifically for the VX1000 as the 58mm century lens will not only vignette, but the focus isn't as crisp and will wear out the threads on your lens by taking it on an off all the time. The bayonet mount is the ish.
