Webcasting Can't Post

Hey folks!
Thanks For all the usefull info to date....I come seeking more. I am interested in Webcasting live to my site. I have seen the Quickencoder, but only seen a windows version. Is there a program that will work for my mac G4. Also, any other pitfalls I should worry about (have broadband)
boards ? ect
Also, any ideas on injecting (on the fly) content for non active segments?
As always, Thanks for a piece of your knowledge

Re: Webcasting Can't Post

Webcasting is expensive... Broadband info, streaming video, etc. can be extremely heavy on file size. If you're trying to stream for fun it, try downloading an mpeg encoder, I believe the REAL website (as in realplayer) has a trial version of XING's MPEG encoder. It's a great piece of software.... I don't know if all browsers, systems, can read MPEG but have found that most do. When you say broadband, you're talking about people who have access to DSL or Cable. When you watch an MPEG with a small data rate, you'll be able to view it as it's downloading... which is essentially what you do when viewing streaming video except that there isn't any buffering taking place. You can link the video clips you want people to see on your website just as you do a picture. It's easy...... however, you've got to check with your web-hosting agent. If a lot of people are watching your material, you'll overrun your bandwidth limit. I've found Valueweb to be a good web hosting agent. They have a 5gig bandwidth limit a month for their basic accounts. You can check it out on my site: www.agentmike.com, you'll see a Valueweb button on the lower left, they host my site.... Also, I've got some clips there from my tv show as well as commercials. Good luck....
