Widescreen Question??? Can't Post

Hey Everyone,

I was shooting a band the other day and a couple of songs in I decided to change from normal recording mode to widescreen. Now when i capture the footage in Final Cut Express and then try to dump them in IDVD they look squished.

How do I get the widscreen footage to display properly? Are they not displaying properly because I captured normal mode first then widescreen?

Sorry for the long message,

Paul Luis

Speaking from FCP experience - did you set the clip setting to DV 16:9 anamorphic at time of capture, also set your sequence to 16:9.

I recall actually changing the header in the MPEG2 file when I was experimenting with anamorphic wide-screen in iDvd - I think it was the only way to get to burn it properly - menus were still 4:3 though.
I now use DVDSP 3 so I'm not as familiar.

*** I have a printout of the steps involved for iDVD wide-screen...search for "creating a widescreen idvd" you should be able to locate it. you will need a HEX editor to edit the header file of the MPEG2 files created by iDVD.
