anolog ot digital possible on vx2000? Can't Post

Anyone know if it's possible to feed anolog video thru vx2000
and come out firewire to capture on pc? Thanks in advance.

Sure, that's one of the features of the vx2000. But you can't do this converstion in real time, you have to record into dv first and then playback the dv to capture into pc.

Wrong. See page 86 of the VX-2000 user manual. It does real-time analog to firewire pass-through transcoding, and you don't have to go to tape first.

Analog capture via VX-2000 [In reply to] Can't Post

I've used the VX-2000 to capture from VHS tape to the PC real time. The manual helps but here is what worked for me:
1) Connect the audio & video outputs from the analog source to the VX-2000
2) Connect the firewire from the VX-2000 to the capture card.
3) Open VX-2000 menu and set the "A/V to DV" option to the "On" setting.
4) Open capture software and manually capture clips. My software named them automatically in order and made it easy.
notes: PC monitor overlay during capture was not possible because the analog pathway only works in one direction- in or out. So I used the flip out monitor on the VX-2000 for reference.

Thanks Jim I finally got it goin. The overlaying not showing threw me.
