audio question Can't Post

I work for a university and we are interested in getting a digital video camera that will allow us to bring in our audio from a mixing board (XLR) and completely bypassing the onboard microphone. Will the VX1000 with a Beachtek or XLR-Pro device allow us to do this? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

When using a Beachtek XVR adapter upon pluggin into the external mic jack you automatically disconnect the onboard microphone.

I Wouldn't spend the extra money on a pd150 just for what you need. Yes, a XLR adapter on a VX will do the job.
