bayonette mount? Can't Post

Can someone tell me what a bayonette mount is? Does a lens with a bayonet mount ONLY fit on a vx-1000 or something?

Re: bayonette mount? Can't Post

A bayonet mount is a mount that has a feature whereby you line up the lens with openings in the camera mount that match up with tangs, claws, or whatever you want to call them and when the tangs are in the openings you just twist the lens into a locking position.
This is compared to a screw mount lens that has to be screwed onto the camera.
This could also refer to how filters and lens hoods are mounted to a lens.
Bayonet mounts are much quicker to use.
