beachtek grounding issue? Can't Post

First time testing the DXA-4 dual XLR adapter by Beachtek with a Sony VX2100. I did all combos of wireless + shotgun and love the thing (with out a tape in the cam). I popped in a tape and get a serious "HUM" that appears to be a grounding problem. The Beachtek came with a note saying to scrape off the paint near the screws on the camera mounting plate for a better contact ... did that and then even took off the plate and scraped off the paint in the 'screw wells' and it still hums. It works fine without a tape in the cam? I'm pretty new at all this and would like to use the full set up on Sat. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

in case anyone else has this issue, I'm emailing back and forth with Beachtek, this is their reply so far. and no I don't see the box they are refering to.

If you only get hum with a tape in the machine, this sounds like an EMI problem as the adapter may be picking up the magnetic noise from the spinning heads in the camcorder. There should be a magnetic shield over the transformers in the adapter to block this noise. You can check to see if this shield is in place by removing the lid of the adapter and looking for a shiny metal box.

I talked with one of their techs, they responded very quickly. Their response:

It appears that the manufacturer has forgotten to install the shield over the transformers. That explains the hum. Not to worry, we will courier you a replacement shield overnight that you simply have to place over the transformers.
