disabling standby in cameramode Can't Post

Is it possible to turn off the standby or auto-power shut off in camera-mode? Sometimes i want to start recording and i did not recognize that the camera had turned to standby mode, so i need to power off and on again, so i missed the first seconds from the scene, and i´ve found no possibility to disable this feature. Has anyone an idea?

The auto shut off is necessary to prevent damage to the tape. Using the standby switch when it appears that the next scene is a minute or 2 off will not only save battery power, but build a mind set that prevents "not being ready".
