lenses for Sony VX2100 Can't Post

I have a Sony VX2100 camcorder and I want to buy extension lenses for it. The easiest to go for the Sony .7 and 1.7x lenses however they are expensive. I found one advertisement mentioning that lenses for digital cameras having the same mounting (58mm) are good for cameras as well. And only the marketing strategy makes the camcoder lenses different. Is it true??

Please help me! Thanks!

Go with the Century .65 58mm threaded or bayonette mount. They are expensive, but with lenses, you get what you pay for. The Century's are just a little more than the Sony's, but IMHO worth the extra dough.

I've got a Raynox HD7000 from bhphotovideo.com. Very good results. Way less expensive then Century.
Watch out for the cheap lenses because you wouldn't be able to keep your picture in focus when/if using zoom.
You can notice that higher quality lenses are usually have 2-3 elements in the group and the cheaper ones are a single piece of glass.

Re: [montevale] lenses for Sony VX2100 [In reply to] Can't Post

I've bought 2 SONY lenses. VCL-HG0758 ($120) and VCL-HG1758 ($175). They are just great, brand new lenses. I've checked some were available in Gainesville, not too many, but I did not like them.
Other question: Anyboby knows what type of shade hood I should use for them?
Thanks

Where did you get the VCL-HG0758 for $120.00? B&H wants $249.95 for it!

I've bought both lenses in eBay. I was lucky. A few days earlier the same kind of lens (wide angle) was sold for almost $200.
Try these links:

Do not bid until the last minute or less because the price could go up very easily.
Good luck!
