manual controls Can't Post

I have downloaded the vx2000 manual and also played with the
unit in stores.
It doesn't seem that there is a way to truly use this camera in manual mode. In other words you don't seem to be able to set f-stop, gain and shutter independently
What I found was that in manual mode I could set shutter speed, then using exposure I could vary f-stop up to open and then the gain kicked in.
Or if I used AE (A) mode, then I could set the desired f-stop and then crank the exposure, but the camera would then select the shutter speed for me.
Is there a way to control all 3 independently? It seems you can do this on the PD150, which has an Iris button as well as shutter and exposure controls.
Thanks.
Simon
