mem. stick adaptor not supported by P4	Can't Post

Hi,
It turns out that the USB adaptor supplied with the VX2000 is not supported by the new pentium 4 pc's. Sony's website says that this happened because the P4 came out before Sony released its version of the USB port adaptor. Without the updated version from Sony my computer has already corrupted 2 -4MG- memory sticks. So, I went ahead and downloaded the current version from Sony. Upon installation, the install icon didn't do a darn thing, it didn't open or activate another window or anything., ....What to do ???

Anyone with a solution,
