pd170 wide angle len for wedding Can't Post

Does anyone use wide angle len, that comes with pd170, for wedding? Is it good enough?

I use it sometimes. Like when the service is in a hall and I am shooting close next to the officiant. Or on a crowded dancefloor where you cannot keep your distance. Never had a problem with it other than the extra weight.

As Julie sadi, be sure you are close enough - you can zoom through the WA lens, but only to a point before the image gets very 'soft'

It does get soft when you zoom through it too much. Not bad, but if you are comparing WA/non-WA footage it is noticable to me (but then I am very critical of those things while editing).

Me too, big time. I always hated footage shot with the sony wide angle 'adapter', at any focal length.

Yes. Plus contrast took a big hit too, and played subtle games with autofocus. I had two of those adapters and they both were what I'd consider lower-quality (but were called 'premium' by sony). Because I used the v8 rig frequently I had the wide glass mounted almost all the time. Much better for stablizing with the wide adapter. Rarely used it for tripod/handheld acquisition however.
