people expect big cameras!!! Can't Post

guys i have shot with the 150 for a while and i love the color, images, and ease of use. I was waiting for the HD tec which appearently is in the mid air. what is your suggestion with 170 or xl2 or the DVX 100. Frankly the only advantage i c witht he XL2 is the look of the camera. i really dont think they are all that easy to handle and have no idea how it does in the low light situations. meanwhile people stare at your small camera in crowd shots and specially events. what is your suggestions when people feel unease with your small camera and lable you as unpro (if that happen) when they havent seen your work etc. At this time of revolution in the formats do u suggest more expensive SD cameras such as the JVCs in the range of 7000s? will they be of any help in getting you bussiness to run and give u all that much better pic quality?
thanx all for your suggestions

Some people expect big cameras, some people don't like big cameras. But your work should show in the end, so those "doubters" can learn that the camera does the job if they ever see the finished product.

This is an ongoing debate that never seems to end. Big cameras have some advantages, but they have disadvantages, too. They aren't as mobile, use more battery power, etc.

Small cameras sometimes don't have quite the versatility in lenses, have smaller chips (usually), but are very mobile, more power efficient, and much less conspicuous.

My recommendation is to go with a camera that you trust, that does what you want it to do, and produce good video with it.

I put a big heavy Manfrotto tripod under my 150, for appearance sake it helps. And it really does help when there is a telephoto lens on the camera.

I say brush those haters off! Who cares what people think of you? If your product looks good in the end it doesn't matter what you shot it with. As someone who shoots weddings, either my brides's want a small camera, or they have trust in confidence in me regardless of the gear.

Plus, the public is a bit more educated to the fact that smaller cameras produced great quality...

Its not so bad using the 150 when you have a shotgun or light on the top, but the vx2k feels a bit amateurish sometimes. Although I rather enjoy being so secretive, it has allowed me to shoot for a few short films in restaurants and such without permits.
