Some people expect big cameras, some people don't like big cameras. But your work should show in the end, so those "doubters" can learn that the camera does the job if they ever see the finished product. This is an ongoing debate that never seems to end. Big cameras have some advantages, but they have disadvantages, too. They aren't as mobile, use more battery power, etc. Small cameras sometimes don't have quite the versatility in lenses, have smaller chips (usually), but are very mobile, more power efficient, and much less conspicuous. My recommendation is to go with a camera that you trust, that does what you want it to do, and produce good video with it.
