s-video recording monitor Can't Post

I have a Ati 9600 video card and it has an s-video slot

What I want to do is record my Counter-Strike Demos with my sony dv cam corder

So i plug in my s-video cord to my dv cam and I can see my demos through my dv cam's lcd monitor when am in the VCR mode

the problem is when i press record instead of recording on to the tape my dv cam records on to its memory stick which is only 8 mb which only gives me about a minute tops of recording

I searched everywhere on the menu screen and cant find how to switch it so that my camera could record on to its vcr

please help me

You do not give enough info to get a good response. How 'bout at least the model of the camera!

Re: [Bob A] s-video recording monitor [In reply to] Can't Post

i have a sony mini dv cam i dont know the name of it, but it does say Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar

it has 4 options VCR OFF CAMERA and MEMORY, and it has a 8 mb memory card. It has s-video port, and 1394 port a usb port and a headphone port

Am trying to record my monitor through an s-video wire. I can view my monitor through VCR mode with the s-video wire connected to my video card, but when i press record it saves on the memory stick. How do i change that so when i press record it would start recording on to the tape?

This is perhaps an overly-simple question, but are you in the wrong recording mode? Your power switch rocker should have 4 settings...from top to bottom they will be VCR, OFF, CAMERA, MEMORY. You need to be in camera mode to record to the MiniDV tape.

That is not correct, he must be in the VCR mode to record to tape. Still, the model would be helpful as someone here is apt to have the same model. Turn the cam up-side-down and the model # will be there unless it is a stolen cam that the thief removed the model and serial # tag.

First off remove the memory stick. Then make sure you are pressing the 2 record buttons on the VCR panel not the photo button.

I did all that, and it shows an error over my lcd monitor saying no memory card, i guess i have to buy atleast a 64 mb memory card for the sony so i can record more than a minute
