time code Can't Post

I would appreciate any input about how to timecode a blank tape.
I recently time-coded a tape on my DV recorder, and the VX1000 definately does not like this tape and will not record onto it.
Thanks
Bert

Did you do it in LP mode? I believe the VX1000 does not support LP mode.

"time coding" is useless anyway as the VX only uses the code from the first frame it starts recording over and lays down completely new time code over it - it erases everything existing on the tape the instant it begins to record.
