vx1000 filming problem, need help!! Can't Post

Hi everyone, im new to this forum, so ill try explain as much as i understand.

I have a dcr-vx1000 and have been using it for some time, but recently the viewfinder cable went out, so i replaced it, but since then, the camcorder films on half screen in pink, the picture in the viewfinder is ok, all in color, and when camcorder is put directly into the computer via firewire picture is perfect too. I took it to local shop and they told me its the JC12 board, wich i do know is around 700$ wich is wayyy to much for this camera.

my question is: is this correct? do you think its the jc12 board? as if it was, wouldnt the view on the viewfinder and computer be pink too, could this just be the heads that are broken or just died? as when i try to view an old tape its asks for head cleaning and and doesnt show pink either!!

thanks for your time
simon
