vx1000 problem Can't Post

my vx1000 wont eject the tape when i turn it on it flashes an eject symbol. i think it might be the battery because my battery is old. anything i should do?

I doubt that it is the battery. Have you tried it with the charger plugged in? Is there a paper label on the tape that is stuck? I have had a tape jam in my VX1000 because the label wasn't flush. Some careful and moderatedly gentle force got the transport to open. I held my breath while doing it but it I got it open without doing damage.

I just sort of pulled it open. Can't remember if I used any greater implement of destruction other than my fingers. I may have gently pried it with the blade of a knife. If it is the label, it should open with not too much force. Pry or pull gently but firmly. If it is being blocked by paper, it should open. If it is something more mechanical, you should not use so much force as to bend metal. As I said, I held my breath.
