Somewhere to plug in a wired remote control so you can record/stop, zoom, focus without touching the camera and avoid camera noise or jerking the shot.

The remote Sony RM-95 ia a wired remote LANC controler that will work most Camera and VCR functions and also is a powerful service tool that can look at all the camera parameters stored in the onboard cameras CPU RAM firmware. (and you can modify these settings also)
