Becoming a cameraman Can't Post

  Hi,
I am a mature student who wishes to become a cameraman. I have been working full time for the last 3 years making underwater movies for tourists, that I sell on DVD or VHS. Because of this experience I am at, 'I guess' - the advanced amateur stage, but I wish to pursue the industry furthur. I intend to go to college / university to gain professional qualifications.( not underwater)
I am living in England / UK. Does anybody have any recommendations with regards to what courses may be of benefit to me.... I do not know where to start !
Thank you for your time.
Regards
Jen

Re: Becoming a cameraman Can't Post

Hello Jen,
I am afraid I am not the person to give advice for your question, however I can offer a resource. Ron Dexter has been a professional film cameraman for more than 40 years. I found his website one day and believe it is a wealth of resources for professionals, educators and students alike. There is a section titled 'FILM SCHOOL' (top right) that will likely provide some answers to your questions... like
"Film School Opinions", "Different Film and Video Job Skills"
You can find his website at rondexterdotcom (just spell that out the way it sounds).
