DCR-TRV18E as a recorder Can't Post

Hello,
I am not able to record the VHP tape into my DCR-TRV18E mini DV camcorder. When I attempted, I was able to hear the sound in the camcorder, but not the picture in the LCD. Can any body help me out.
Thanks,
Sasi

Re: DCR-TRV18E as a recorder Can't Post

The camcorder must be set to "VCR" mode, not camera mode. Not sure where the switch for that is on your model...it may be combined with a master power switch, or it may be a switch position on the ring surrounding the REC button under your thumb.
Also, you must use the composite video; you cannot record over a Firewire connection with this camcorder.
