DVD to VCR recording Can't Post

How can I record DVD to VHS tape? I tried hooking my dvd output component (RCA cables) to vcr. But recorded picture is all messy.
Somebody told me that Scan-rate of DVD frames is 31.5KHz which vcrs don't display / record. Is this correct? How to work around it? Will RF modulator help?

No, that's nonsense. It's possible that:
1. You have a PAL (European television format) DVD and are trying to record to NTSC (U.S. standard), or vice versa, or
2. The DVD is a commercial product and is copy protected. Either way, an RF modulator won't do a thing to help.

Re: DVD to VCR recording [In reply to] Can't Post

I found a work arround by playing a DVD in my computer with TV out. My Video card supports TV out, I ran TV out into my VCR and my VCR out to a TV (TV for viewing). To get sound as with picture, you also have to run audio out from computer into VCR as well.
