Do I need a new battery? Can't Post

My Sony HI8 says I have 133 minutes to use but died after about 15 minutes if use Im attempting to charge but it wont progress any further. Oh , and does anyone know if there is a compatable editing system like Final Cut that works for HI8???

You need a new battery.
Final Cut will work with Hi8 footage; the problem is getting it into the computer in the first place. One way is to convert it to DV footage, either by passing it through a DV camcorder and into the computer via Firewire, or using a converter box like the Canopus ADVC series.
