Does Firewire connection transfer both video and audio? Can't Post

I have a JVC mini-DV that have a Firewire and a S-video/audio connection. Is the firewire connection sufficient for both video and audio transfer? I already have a S-video capture card. Does it worth to get a new firewire card for my PC? Are there any video quality differences between the 2 connection?

Yes it would do you to get firewire card for your computer. If you have firewire on your camera. If you keep it all digital by using firewire there is no quality loss during transfer. Both audio and video are sent across firewire cable. Try a Pyro firewire card. About $50 or less

: Both audio and video are sent across firewire cable.
Not only that, but so is time code and deck control commands! That little serial cable replaces FOUR analog connections. I love it.
