Hello Can't Post

Great, acsess to other people that do a simalar job as my self

- I work in UK and support pupils and teachers in providing pratical media studies units for national qualifications in the 13-20 age bracket. I work out of a charity called Youth cable Television http://www.ort.org:80/yctv/.
- A discusion group in this area, that contributes experiance, shares resources, and supports each other is missing on the web. Would people prefer a majordomo mail-list, or is there one out there all ready? (i could set one up- would only take a few weeks, i have a server avaliable?)
- Looking forward to linking up with others in the same area!

Re: Hello Can't Post

I visited your page, very nice. I am also interested in educating youth in video. I have been in television for the past 18 years. I have just joined an art consortium here in Florida that teaches kids thru the arts.
Here in my county there are 174 schools, elementary(grades k-5), middle(grades 6-9) and high school(grades 10-12). In the vast majority of these schools there is video equipment. The kids are very fortunate to be exposed to video at a very early age.
I love the idea of kids creating their own video program. Tell me more about it.

Re: Hello [In reply to] Can't Post

I am teaching students in an american school in Germany. I have been tasked with teaching a video course to 7th and 8th graders in the fall. I am looking for all the curriculum ideas (lesson plans, etc.) I can get my hands on. Can you help out in any way? Thanks, Bill
Also, I am looking for cheap or free???? access to old video equipment of any kind. We have two cameras and perhaps three vcr's - Know of any sources??

I recommend you check out the free Cybertext at

Ron Whittaker has put the information from one of his textbooks there. It is well written and contains a lot of information. I have used parts of it in a Television Scriptwriting course for students that had not had a production course.

Re: Visual Composition @ Kodak.com [In reply to] Can't Post

Kodak has two tutorials on-line which I plan to use with my TV Field Production classes in the fall. One deals with natural lighting and the other with visual composition. There are actually two versions of each, one for enthusiasts and one for educators. The enthusiasts' has thumbnails and lots of verbage. The educators version has full-screen images and a minimum of words. Print out the enthusiasts' and use it with the larger images.
If you don't have slideshow software to handle the images, check out WinJPEG at: www.turnpike.net/metro/kyee/PVS.html
Good Luck.
