High School Video Exchange Can't Post

Hi,

I'm a high school teacher here in Tokyo, Japan. This year I'm planning on getting one of my classes (16-year-olds) to produce a video about life in Tokyo from a students' perspective that would be exchanged with a class from abroad, and was wondering if there happens to be another teacher or teachers who would be interested in doing the same thing with their class. We could first exchange a simple introduction video prior to the main one if you like.

I look forward to hearing from you!

R

I am involved with a school which trains students in video production and other media subjects in Kenya. I am sure the students would love to work on such a project. If you are interested, you can email me at either eastafricansms@hotmail.com or at donald_giesen@hotmail.com.

Please scroll down on this forum to a message posted by Jennifer_Marine in June, which is also looking for international penpals. Perhaps that class will want to join you.

I'd be interested in exchanging videos. I teach at an inner city Los Angeles High School and could make this a very interesting project for my advanced students. contact me via email coolteechur@yahoo.com

Well, better late than never. I just sent you guys (above) a letter about doing a video exchange. Any other teachers are more than welcome to participate, too; just post an e-mail address, and I'll contact you.

I am just curious...

Why wouldn't you just build a website to do this? Combination of videos and a forum for discussion. Why bother with an "exchange" of tapes or DVD's at all?

Re: [galt] High School Video Exchange [In reply to] Can't Post

my perception was (is) video "exchange" doesn't imply exactly how the "exchange" would take place...Web video would be the most convenient and timely but for me, it wouldn't replace the full screen, full motion video of a dvd shown on tv monitor...both formats would work for my situation....

In reply to mweiser,

My name is Jeff Goldstein and for the last 17 years I have taught video production at an inner city K-8 public school in Brooklyn, NY. I not only teach 25 classes a week but I run an after school club called Kid Witness News for the more advanced students. Kid Witness News is a program sponsored by Panasonic.

I would be interested in starting a video exchange between your school and mine.
