Mini DV authentication Can't Post

Please Help!!!!! I am trying to find a way that i can determine weather or not the footage contained on a Mini-DV tape is the original or not or if any editing has occured. Does anyone know of any techniques that can be used to try and detrermine this or not?

Re: Mini DV authentication Can't Post

: if any editing has occured.
There are forensic video specialists who have a lot of expertise in this. If it's important, you should consider hiring one of them.
However, as a non-specialist, my opinion is that if the only editing done was to cut out some material, it will be extremely difficult or impossible to tell.
If there has been some modification of the image, like matting out a person or an object, it should be possible to detect.
The best evidence is a sworn affidavit from the videographer that says, "yes, I shot the tape, and the physical cassette in your hands is the one I shot."
