Shooting sports Can't Post

What's the best way to shoot football with a Panasonic AG-DVX100A?
What speed should I set the shutter to? Is it different for 30p and 24p?

I think I'd shoot sports at 60i, not the progressive modes. For one thing, motion blur and jerkiness is much worse if you try to apply slow motion to these modes in post.

I would agree stay with 60i, you could try 30p, but do a practice or something that is not that important first. It also may help with motion blur if you increase the shutter speed to 100 or even a little more. It all depends if it is a day or night game and how much light is available.
