Transitions from video to photos	Can't Post

I am making a school video with digital vidoe and photos throughout the year. I was wondering how you can smoothly (examples if possible) transition from video to photos back to video? i will be doing this multiple times in the video.

Just use any transition that you'd use between two video clips. Take a look at anything on the Biography or the History channels; they use a lot of still photos in their documentaries.

Or if you meant, how do you actually combine video and photos: Use a video nonlinear editing software program. They can import still images as well as video clips. The finished project is output on video tape or DVD.

I usually do a dip to black or white, which will give you a definite break in the action, which will denote a change. Anything that gives a break will be good as it lets the viewer know that something is changing. It should be short, however, maybe only 1 second or so.
