We are adopting textbooks Can't Post

My division is adopting new textbooks this year. I teach Electronic Media, (use Mac G5s with Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Photoshop, Panasonic DVX100s) and would appreciate some advice on textbooks. I have several coming from publishers and would appreciate any input.
Thanks,
Razz, Kingsport Tennessee

Razz,

I've written a textbook in television production on the high school level. The last chapter of it is in the mail right now to me for approval of the layout proofs. The next step is to the printer in January and should be available for purchase by Feb. '06. The publisher can be found at www.goodheartwillcox.com . The ISBN is 1-59070-454-1. The Title is Television Production by Phillip L. Harris. There are already many orders for this text. There is a workbook as well as an instructor's manual as well. The IM contains a complete curriculum guide as well as a walk thru of every chapter with activities and discussion questions as well as tests and handouts.

I'm from your neck of the woods! I grew up a half mile from the Bristol International Speedway. I have relatives still in the area and my cousin is a teacher in Kingsport, too.

I STRONGLY recommend these two, I use them and love them. I've found nothing bette for all around general edting and NLE understanding.

Apple Pro Training Series: Final Cut Pro 5
Apple Pro Training Series: Advanced Editing Techniques with Final Cut Pro 5

These two will cover using the NLE on a professional level, and actual professional editing techniques for situations such as interviews, action scenes, etc.

Just curious - what did you decide on the textbooks?
