cassette got stuck in Sony CCD TR808E camcorder Can't Post

Yesterday a cassette got stuck in my camcorder, a Sony CCD TR808E. Pressing the Eject-button doesn't help. It tries to eject it (I can hear the mechanics working) but it is somehow jammed.
Should I give it a try to fix it on my own?
Does anyone have a service manual for that cam?
Or is it worth to get it repaired by Sony (the cam is almost 10years old!)?
Thanks for your help
:)

Just getting the tape out is something you can probably do yourself, if you have a set of jeweler's screwdrivers and are fairly handy. A white cloth to work on, good light, and a magnifier wouldn't hurt, either.
Fixing the camcorder so the problem doesn't recur is another matter. Sony could do it, but the cost would probably be at least half that of an equivalent replacement camera. If you like doing video, I'd consider replacing it.
