How do u transfer 8mm dv cartriges to your pc and if you know a good editing software please tell me?

You would use a DV camera as the playback source to go into the computer.
The DV camera would need to have either a digital output, or an analog output. The digital output would either be firewire, or USB. The computer would need to have inputs for those cables. If you use an analog output you would have an RCA Video/Audio cable for output and an adaptor for your computer to take the analog signal, (very few computers have analog inputs). Dazzle makes an adaptor that takes analog signals and inputs it to USB port. Go to www.dazzle.com for a list of their products.
As far as editing Dazzle also makes editing/capture software that comes with the adaptor. Another source for editing software is www.ulead.com.
