help! - imagemixer lags sound in video created

My duaghter created a 35 minute video with imagemixer that has about 65 clips in it. After the mpeg is created, the sound starts out ok, but then after several clips it begins to lag behind the video. By the end of the tape it's way behind. We have turned sound fade off thinking that that might be the problem. Project is due tomorrow - any help would be appreciated :)
