jlip video capture/producer software Can't Post

I purchase a Digital JVC camcorder a few years back and the software is for Window 95/98. I now have Windows XP and it won't even recognize the disc is in the drive. Please help.

I have that problem with a lot of older Windows software. Unless you want to trade your camcorder in for a new DV or Digital 8 model with a Firewire interface to your computer, you may have to simply install Win 98 on your computer in a separate disk partition, and run under the old OS when you want to do video editing.
JLIP is a JVC proprietary editing protocol, and there isn't much that uses it except certain pieces of JVC equipment.

I'd like to find out if your issue was resolved. Someone suggested downloading Windows 2000 and partitioning your drive. Is that what you opted for and did it work? Or, are you still having problems?

My question is "How do you install Windows 95 or 98 on a separate disk partition?" How do you run this when you want to do video editing? I like to make cards with my camcorder pictures...and my husband bought me a new computer...it is frustrating that I can't do the main thing I like to do because I have a new computer.
Thanks
Katrina

I downloaded the software and I can control the camera from my pc with it, but I can't see a moving picture on the pc, and none of my other editing software (windows, arc, hp) can read it. Anybody figure this out? Will an S-cable or firewire or USB adaptor fix it? Or do I just get a new camera?

I bought a wirefire and plugged it to my PC. It works perfect.
