Advise for humid conditions Can't Post

I'm planning a missions trip to Brazil in April. I've been told that the conditions are so humid that your breathmints will clump up into a single breathmint before you open the package. That comment concerned me reguarding my camera, batteries, and tapes. What advise can somebody give me?

Those conditions are very hard on a video camera. I've never been in a rain forest, but here are some things I remember from an article about a shoot there:

1. Keep tapes factory sealed until use. Keep them in a sealed container, along with a box of desiccant (silica gel, available at your local gun store). Get the kind that turns color when it needs to be recharged (by heating it).

2. Keep the camera in a protective bag, too. You might look into one of the EWA Marine "underwater baggies"...they're good down to 30 feet or so, so they should be OK for your use.
