Audio Problems Can't Post

My computer needed to be reformatted and now I'm having trouble with Adobe, which is why I waited a year to reformat. I'm using Adobe Premier Pro & Canopus. My music files play fine, until I import them into adobe. Once I do that, there is a lot of static on music files only. Audio with my video is fine. Once I import into Adobe, even if I open the music on my HD, there is static. Once I close Adobe, the music files play fine. I've had this problem before & I believe Canopus walked me thru the fix. Canopus is closed today, so I was hoping someone out there might be able to help me.
