Broken mini DV port on sony vx1000	Can't Post

when i go to capture the footage to the computer i plug the firewire port into the camera and it says DV IN and then i go to capture my footage with adobe premeire 6.0 and it says nothing is connected can any one help?

Turn the computer off. Connect the camera via Firewire and turn the camera on. Boot your computer. It should recognize the camcorder.
