Why do people think DVD camcorders are so great?

Because it uses the terms DVD and digital. Everybody knows DVD is the best and so is digital. (And forget all that stuff about over compression and hard to edit long GOPs, etc.) Unsure

Remember when JVC came out with a SVHS-C camcorder?
Nobody bought it.

I don't believe any videographer worth his salt would consider a owning DVD camcorder---even as a back up. Panasonic released a 3 chip DVD, but what's the point? Do you really want to waste time during a wedding or concert to chance a disc 3 or 4 times?
