Duplicate different media? Can't Post

1st of all "Thanks for all the great info"
Question: "If I've produced a +r master, can I use -r media in the duplicator"
Answer: Seems to be Yes (I've tried it once)
2nd part of the question: Is it safe to perform this seemingly weird dupe enmasse?

The + or - only refers to the type media used, not the data that is on the disc. It's the same data on both discs, only burned to different media.

So the answer is - it doesn't matter what type media you use, or whether you mix the media in the burn process, the data will remain the same.

That is no problem at all. The controller card in your dup tower does the conversion on the fly. You can actually load both - and + blanks at the same time in mine and it takes it in stride.

Ummm... there's no conversion going on. It's strictly how the burner reacts to the disc that's inserted.

OK, No biggie. But the different discs - or + will be recorded to different diameter when duplicated so something is converted er., changed in some way.

I found the easiest thing to do is create a .ISO/.IMG of the DVD and store it on my server. Then when I need a dupe later down the road I just burn from the .IMG. As for the differences between the formats it's only when burning as +R supports defect management, addressing and linking, while -R doesn't. But copying one to another has no effect..
