Hard drive is clicking, but not all the time. Help! Can't Post

Ok, I know that the hard drive clicking is a bad sign! It usually means something the drive is dead. But here's my situation:
I'm creating a dvd in Ulead DVD Workshop. Everything is going fine. I've edited and exported and encoded off the drive. Now, I tell Workshop to create an image file and the process begins. When it starts the video/audio multiplexing the hard drive starts clicking and everything freezes. I can restart the computer and the drive works fine. I can edit off of it. I can watch mpegs from it. I just can't create the dvd. No clicking any other time. I've opened the computer and disconnected and reconnected the drive and the same thing happened.
Please, any help would be appreciated. Am I about to loose it all?

Thanks,
Annie

Yes, move everything off the drive and replace asap. Sounds like a bad sector and the heads retrying to read data.
