How to avoid DVDs that skip? HELP! Can't Post

I want to make sure that a year from now, my clients don't call me and tell me they can't watch their DVDs anymore. I fear that if I don't invest some money into this area, this could happen.

What brand of DVDs do you suggest I buy?
AND what kind of burner do you think I should buy in order to make sure the DVDs burn properly and do not skip.

I know there are lots of variables. I presently use FCP and export the files using a Mac. I then move them over to my PC and burn there. But, that transfer should not be the issue.
Any advice would be most appreciated.

Alot of people use Taiyo Yuden DVDs. I use either the Verbatims or even the TDKs and now the Sony's I buy at Costco. No problems.

I'd say start by using TY 8X inkjet printable DVD-R from here: http://www.supermediastore.com/...dvd-r-media-200.html

I do not recommend the 16X WaterShield TY's, as I had compatibility issues with them, but the 8X have always played flawlessly...except when I got one bad spindle of them, unlike every other brand I've used which ALL gave me problems.

As for longevity...who knows. They're burned discs, so none of them will last forever. Encourage your clients to transfer them to newer kinds of media in the future for backup.

Good luck!
