How to stay ahead in the delivery of your production Can't Post

This may be another "Duh" for Al.

Not sure how many of you are religious so read with caution....

One technique I use to keep aware of new delivery systems for productions is by studying the porn industry. For those who don't know it was porn that made VCRs popular and it was also porn by way of the porn kingpins the Mitchell brothers (DeepThroat, Behind the Green Door) that gave us those FBI warnings at the begining of all tapes. Did you know that the all time highest grossing film is "DeepThroat?" Titanic still has a long ways to go to catch up.

Right now there are porn sites delivering HD feeds at 16:9 to broadband users and the images are exceptional. They have inspired almost all streaming video codecs from java based to divx and all in between.

They use the latest cam equipment and were the first to tackle DV and DVD production. Porn is an ever changing industry and they have to stay one step ahead of everyone to survive. The best webcam sites are of course adult related with some of them having framerates of 4-5 frames a second or higher which is amazing and they are getting faster as we speak. Yahoo is considering buying an older version of one adult site's software so they can update their framerate.

I wish all my research was as fun.Sly
