1st up, you don't get 4 hours of backup off a consumer UPS. You'd need a VERY expensive unit. UPS systems are designed to give enough time to get the applications to quit and properly power down all the units. You run your computer and monitor off it, not printers, not anything else. That's what they're designed for.

When selecting one, you can pretty much trust the info on the box. Go to a CompUSA (don't buy there, just look and play) and look over the specs. Or go to manufactures own pages for tech specs. You can pretty much trust what they publish. And as long as it's a major brand, it'll be fine.

APC has integrations for small - large data centers. Spendy, but small can you give you 3 - 4 hours..

Not sure what they sell now but apc has some expanable mdels ours is 6 years old not at work right now but I think its 5000 series. also not sure if it will handle your load or not., what we have is backup for a 250 line phone system and 4 servers and will last 3 hours ith one battery pack. but its not going to be cheap for anyting the size you are requesting.

Our APC system handles 11 servers and 15 Cisco 5500 Series Switches. It lasts around 5-6 hours, after that our battery room takes over for another 2 hours and then generators. Which doesn't count our 25 other closet switches which are 5500's..

I think our APC system was over a million..
